experience youth cycling
Join the Georgia Cycling Association for a morning of free family fun on the bike trails at Road Atlanta on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Our Girls Ride team will host “A Fairytale Ride,” where the girls are the heroines of their own story.
Take advantage of this opportunity for young women to experience the excitement of cross-country mountain biking. This event will combine various activities designed to provide physical and mental exercise… with the added benefit of getting to know some new friends!
Girls Ride events are free and open to girls in 6th through 12th grade and adult women. This is an excellent chance for kids to explore becoming a student-athlete in our TeamMTB program and for adults to learn how easy and rewarding it can be to become a youth mountain bike coach. YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND.
TALK WITH OUR GIRLS RIDE CHAMPIONS
The Girls Ride Champions will be on site for this event. This group of accomplished women is a fantastic resource for new riders and their parents. They can answer your questions about what it is like to ride in the Georgia Cycling Association.
The schedule for “a fairytale ride”
The girls are the heroines of their own fairytale. The forest (trail) is changing, and each challenge helps them discover a skill that lets them ride forward with confidence.
9:45 a.m. - Check-in Opens: Sign your participation waiver and have your bike and helmet checked. All participants must be checked in by 10 a.m.
10 a.m. - Ice Breaker Activities
10:30 a.m. - Our fairytale begins. Ride through the forest to experience a wonderful tale and some unique challenges.
12:00 p.m. - Celebrate your accomplishments. You’ll be able to spend quality time getting to know riders from other teams while enjoying hot chocolate and some whimsical treats.
RESERVE A LOANER BIKE
We have a small fleet of Specialized Bikes and Smith Helmets available for use during this Girls Ride Event. These bikes and helmets are free of charge, but we ask that you reserve a bike only for a child who currently does not own a bike. We aim to introduce as many people to the sport as possible, so we want to reserve our loaner fleet for those families without a bike.
You can add yourself to the waitlist if your desired size is sold out. If someone does not show up on event day, we will offer bikes to those on the waitlist.
Those who desire to use a loaner bike must arrive by 9:45 a.m. on event day to allow our team time to properly fit the bike to the participant.
You are reserving a free loaner bike and helmet for the Girls Ride Event in Braselton, GA.
